Amengual Named ECC rookie of the Week For Second Time

Central Islip, N.Y. (April, 14, 2008) - NYIT freshman Ryan Amengual (West Babylon, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office today. Amengual earns the honor for the second time this season.

Amengual's only goal of the week was a pivotal one the proved to be the game winner in NYIT's 12-11 win over Adelphi on Saturday. Amengual scored the first goal of the fourth quarter to give the Bears a two goal advantage, 12-10. The Panthers cut the lead to one, 12-11, with four minutes to play, but would get no closer.
