NYIT Athletics Announces SAAC Music Video Contest Winner

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (April 25, 2013) - After three years of domination by the men's lacrosse team, the NYIT men's soccer team was announced as the new champions of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Music Video Contest, it was announced Thursday. The baseball and men's basketball teams tied for second place, and softball took home third place.

No. 8 Bears Host Chargers in Jack Kaley Day Action on ESPN3

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (April 10, 2013) – NYIT lacrosse, ranked eighth in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches poll, will host Dominican (N.Y.) in East Coast Conference action on Saturday, April 13 at DaSilva Memorial Field on the campus of St. John’s (N.Y.). Faceoff is scheduled for Noon and will be aired on ESPN3.

NYIT Athletics Raises More Than $500 for Scholarship Fund

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (April 1, 2013) - At Saturday, March 30's men's lacrosse game against Chestnut Hill, the NYIT Department of Intercollegiate Athletics raised $560 for a scholarship fund for Gavin Quigley, son of Seton Hill head women's lacrosse coach Kristina Quigley, who tragically lost her life in a bus accident this season.

NYIT Lacrosse to Hold Alumni Game Honoring the 2003 National Championship

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (March 20, 2013) - On Saturday, March 30, the NYIT lacrosse program will hold its annual "Alumni Day" for its Noon contest against Chestnut Hill. The event will honor the 10-year anniversary of the 2003 National Championship team.

ECC Launches New and Improved ECCSports.org

Fourth Annual ECC Spirit Showcase to be Held on February 24

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Feb. 20, 2013) - On Sunday, February 24, the East Coast Conference will hold its Fourth Annual Spirit Showcase in the Brookhaven Gymnasium on the campus of Suffolk County Community College in Selden, N.Y. The showcase will begin at 11 a.m. All proceeds from the event will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

NYIT Athletics Announces Super Bowl XLVII Raffle Winner

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Jan. 14, 2013) - The NYIT Department of Athletics and Recreation announced the winner of the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Raffle on Monday. Theoni Kyriakoulias of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., was selected at random out of more than 2,000 raffle tickets. Her prize pack includes round-trip airfare from New York to New Orleans, La., for Super Bowl XLVII, three night accommodations, two tickets to Super Bowl XLVII, a game day cocktail reception with former NFL greats, tickets to the NFL Experience on Saturday, official Super Bowl XLVII souvenirs, and much more.

NYIT SAAC Spreads Holiday Cheer at Nassau Medical Center Pediatric Unit

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (Dec. 17, 2012) - In a season of giving, members of the NYIT Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) visited the pediatric unit at the Nassau University Medical Center on Friday, Dec. 14 to deliver holiday cheer and presents. The Bears donned elves hats and armed themselves with wrapped toys and NYIT Athletics gear to visit children ranging in age from six months to 19-years-old.

Bears Volunteer for Sandy Cleanup

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Nov. 19, 2012) - Several members of the NYIT Athletic family volunteered their time on Saturday, Nov. 10 and Friday, Nov. 16, to help New Yorkers get back on their feet after Hurricane Sandy. The first group on Nov. 10 was dispatched out of Nassau Coliseum by the American Red Cross and set up a food truck in Hewlett, N.Y. The second group, on Friday, Nov. 16, traveled into New York City to pick up supplies and then was sent to the Oakwood Heights area of Staten Island, where they were asked to help clean out homes destroyed by Sandy.

Tickets Now Available for the 2012 Jam-BEAR-Ree Pep Rally

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Nov. 5, 2012) - Fans, join NYIT Athletics as it celebrates the start of the 2012-2013 basketball season with the eighth annual Jam-BEAR-Ree Basketball Rally on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 12:45 p.m. in Recreation Hall. Tickets are $5 each and are available in advance at the Athletics Office in the Sports Complex, as well as at the door on the day of the event.
