Does NYIT provide health insurance for students? |
||||
All students can voluntarily enroll in NYIT’s student health insurance, regardless of the number of credits they take. This insurance is provided by Aetna Student Health. All students are also automatically enrolled in NYIT’s mandatory accident insurance at a cost of $12.50 per semester for full-time students and $5 for part-time students (this fee is noted on your tuition bill). To find out more about the cost of the health insurance, click here.
To review the school’s health insurance plan, go to www.aetnastudenthealth.com.
Click on “Find your school” and enter NYIT.
Choose “Domestic Plan.”
Please note the “Policy Info” tab for an explanation of the benefits.
Select the “Enroll” tab to sign up for the insurance. The enroll option will ask for a valid ID number (your student ID number).
You will receive an enrollment confirmation once online enrollment is complete. It will take two to three weeks to receive a permanent insurance ID card in the mail. Until then, you can obtain a temporary insurance ID card from the Office of Wellness Services.
For more information, e-mail the coordinator of wellness services at sbasta@nyit.edu or call 516.686.7697. |
