2012 New Student Orientation

Congratulations and welcome to New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). We are delighted that you have decided to become a part of NYIT. Student Orientation is a mandatory program and it is designed to smooth your transition to the university.

Orientation Dates for the Old Westbury campus

• Wednesday, July 18, 2012
• Tuesday - Wednesday, July 24 - 25, 2012 (overnight optional)
• Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012
• Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012
• Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 (International and Transfer Students) **
• Friday - Saturday, Aug. 31 - Sept. 1, 2012 (Residential Orientation)
• Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 (International Students Only) ** If you will be living in the residence halls, plan to attend orientation on this day

Orientation Dates for the Manhattan campus (1855 Broadway @ 61st St.)

• Tuesday – Wednesday, July 17 – 18, 2012 (overnight optional)
• Tuesday – Wednesday, July 24 – 25, 2012 (overnight optional)
• Tuesday – Wednesday, July 31 – Aug. 1, 2012 (overnight optional)
• Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 (Domestic and International Transfer Students Only) **
• Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 (First-Year International Students Only) **
• Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 (International Students Only) ** If you will be living in the residence halls, plan to attend orientation on this day

** NYIT Manhattan and Old Westbury Residence Halls are not available for move in until Sept. 2, 2012.

During Orientation, you will have the chance to make new friends, explore the campus and its resources and get all of your questions answered. You’ll leave Orientation headed in the right direction for classes this fall.
