Does NYIT have student housing? How safe are the facilities?

NYIT provides residential halls at both our Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for housing.

Old Westbury: Students who plan to take courses at the Old Westbury campus are encouraged and invited to live in the residence halls. All accommodations are suite style. A typical suite has two single rooms, two double rooms, a shared bathroom, and a small common area. Throughout the campus there are suites designated for graduate students. For more information, visit NYIT's Office of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing.

Manhattan: For students planning to attend classes in Manhattan, NYIT offers two full-service residence halls, located a quick subway, bus, or bicycle ride from the Manhattan campus. The facilities are supervised by the full-time, professionally trained staff of the Office of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing, as well as resident advisors and peer mentors. For more information, visit NYIT's Office of Housing and Residential Life

A 24-hour security staff ensures the safety of all residents. In addition, residence halls are locked and monitored in the evening, requiring visitors to show identification and indicate which student they are visiting.
