The Center of Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression (COURCE)
The Center of Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression was created to support student effort in research, creative expression, and other forms of scholarship. The center is responsible for helping students in identifying projects as part of their course curriculum, to connect with faculty and mentors at NYIT, to assist in choosing summer research programs outside of NYIT, and to support their travel to conferences.
Research opportunities
- Faculty-initiated research: Volunteer laboratory research opportunities exist with NYIT faculty in different research areas and topics. Students may perform either hands-on, literary research, or both in the summer or throughout the year.
- Independent summer research: Students may choose from dozens of programs available outside of NYIT and browse through the opportunities available.
Summer research and travel grants
Students may request travel grants from the center for summer research projects if they are accepted to a summer program. Small grants are also available to NYIT undergraduates who need to present their research findings.
