Yevgen Bogatyryov, a participant of the NYIT Advanced Research Core (ARC) program, has been selected by the American Association of Anatomists (AAA) Advisory Committee for Young Anatomists as a finalist to compete for the 2013 Undergraduate Student Poster Presentation Award with his research project entitled “Chronic ivabradine-induced heart rate reduction does not modify collagen accumulation in myocardial infarction scar of middle-aged rats” at AAA’s annual meeting during Experimental Biology (EB) conference in Boston, MA (April 20-24, 2013).  In support of his participation at AAA’s annual meeting he has also been awarded a $350 AAA Student Travel Award. Yevgen, who is an undergraduate student majoring in Pre-Medicine in the Department of Life Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, has conducted his original research since May 2011 at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Eduard I. Dedkov, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences.

Chanakya Bavisha is working in the laboratory of Dr. David Tegay.  The title of his project is “Genomic Copy Number Variation in Parkinson’s Disease. Will use microarray CGH to catalog copy number variation in a normal cohort as a control for a cohort with Parkinson’s Disease”.
