Communication Arts
Communication Arts
Today's successful communications professional needs skills that cover multiple delivery platforms – digital, visual and written. NYIT's B.F.A. program in communication arts takes a hands-on, multidisciplinary approach to education, ensuring that you receive a solid foundation in communication theory and practical education on the same state-of-the-art equipment you'll use in the real world.
The communication arts department offers a variety of undergraduate specializations, structured to prepare students for careers in radio, audio recording, film, television, multimedia production, print and electronic journalism, advertising or public relations. Professional hands on experience is offered in student-run programs such as our award-winning TV program “L. I. News Tonight” and our Web-based radio station, WNYT, as well as in internships that give students the opportunity to work in the area of their specialization.
Advertising
At NYIT, you study the vital role advertising plays in contemporary marketing strategy. You will learn to use the latest technology to create persuasive advertising campaigns that capture attention and successfully promote a product, service or idea. Through a variety of hands-on experiences in our career-oriented program, you'll gain real-world knowledge and skills. You will work in an award winning, student-run, advertising and public relations agency, the Carleton Group, serving a prestigious client list of local, regional, national and international organizations.Faculty
