Congratulations to Jason Van Nest, assistant professor of architecture, Mathew Ford, adjunct professor of architecture, and past NYIT professor Will Martin, who have won an Award of Merit in the 2013 Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) New York Chapter Design Awards. Their award-winning entry involved writing architectural software to model the behavior of snow stakes as a building material for a folly in Queens, N.Y. Van Nest (right) is pictured accepting the award from SARA NY Council President Keith M. Lucas.
In addition, Michael Palesano (B.Arch. '13) won a student design award for his work completed in the Design VI course as a student in the NYIT architecture program. He was nominated by NYIT Professor John di Domenico.
