Members of the NYIT community are invited to attend the New York premiere of Modern Tide: Midcentury Architecture on Long Island, on Thursday, June 7, 6-9 p.m. at the Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place, New York City.
The documentary film explores work by the region's best post-war architects and designers and features rare archival material and striking cinematography to highlight Long Island's underrated Modernist architectural treasures. It is a project of Design Onscreen - The Initiative for Architecture and Design on Film, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to producing, promoting, and preserving quality films on architecture and design. Among the architects and historians who provide commentary in the film are NYIT architecture professors Frederick Bentel and Frances Campani.
