Amanda Kolson Hurley is the executive editor of Architect magazine in Washington, D.C., the official magazine of the American Institute of Architects. She joined Architect's staff shortly after the magazine launched in 2006 and has reported on a wide variety of subjects, with a special focus on the business of architecture. Her feature story on unlicensed architectural practice was a finalist for a Jesse H. Neal journalism award in 2009. Before joining Architect, she was an editor at Preservation, the magazine of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Hurley has a Ph.D. in literature from the University of Bristol, England, and is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. She lives outside of Washington, D.C.

Amanda will join New York Institute of Technology and Judith DiMaio, dean of the School of Architecture and Design for a presentation and reception as part of the School of Archiecture and Design Lecture Series.  Details of the event can be found below or on the NYIT Events Calendar.
