Architecture Students Create Light Fixtures
NYIT Architecture students from the fall course ARCH-291 created light fixtures for their midterm project. The fixtures will be displayed at Gallery 61 in an upcoming show.

Mathew Ford and Jason Van Nest Present "Simulating Paradoxes"
Professors Mathew Ford and Jason Van Nest presented a paper “Simulating Paradoxes” at the 2015 ACSA Fall Conference in October of 2015. The two professors will be presenting their paper again to the NYIT community on February 2, 2016.

2015 Long Island's Finest High School Art Competition
The School of Architecture and Design Department of Interior Design is conducting the 2nd Annual High School Art Competition. The competition is titled “Long Island's Finest" and challenges the students to submit projects that depict their interpretation of the theme "The Inside." Submission Deadline: November 20, 2015.

FRIENDS Announce the 2015-2016 Scholarship Recipients
The FRIENDS of NYIT School of Architecture and Design will host a lecture by Ron Blitch, principal of Blitch Knevel and Architects. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 6:30 pm, at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, Old Westbury campus. The recipients of the 2015-2016 FRIENDS Scholarship Awards will be recognized in a presentation at the lecture.

Nesma Galal Wins The 2015 Angelo Donghia Foundation Scholarship
Nesma Galal, a fourth-year interior design student in the School of Architecture and Design, has been awarded the prestigious Angelo Donghia Foundation Scholarship for 2015. Galal is one of 14 candidates selected from a pool of students attending accredited programs in schools around the country. The scholarship holds a monetary value of up to $30,000 and will cover her senior year tuition and expenses. Galal's submission, "Urban Sanctuary" was created for her furniture design course.

2015-2016 FRIENDS Graduating Scholarship
This annual award will be granted on merit, recognizing well rounded hard working students who perform well in their area of study. Students must be in good academic standing with a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA and receive a positive endorsement from his/her advisor and/or faculty member.
