Peer Advisors (PAs) are upperclassmen, undergraduate students who have successful academic records, possess strong leadership skills, and are knowledgeable of the university's resources. They serve to support students with matters related to advisement and registration, including the explanation of degree requirements, the use of online tools such as NYITConnect, and the future planning of their coursework.
Peer Advisors are assistant staff members within the Division of Enrollment Services and directed and supervised by the Advising and Enrichment Center. Peer Advisors assist selected students with adjustments to university life by helping them become familiar with the policies and procedures stated in both the Undergraduate Catalog and Student Handbook. In addition, Peer Advisors provide academic support and guidance within their realm of understanding.

Advisor Schedule
Updated throughout the semester, the Advisor Schedule displays advisor hours during both priority advisement and non-priority advisement periods.
Academic Calendar
The Academic Calendar contains important dates at NYIT, including advisement and registration periods, deadlines for schedule changes and withdrawal from courses, and the final exam schedule.
Advisement Preparation Form (PDF)
The Advisement Preparation Form can prepare students for their academic advisement appointment. By recording important questions and plotting future semesters, students will have the tools they need to ensure their progress toward graduation.
Semester Maps
Semester Maps are a useful resource that maps out degree requirements leading to graduation. These should be used only as guides. All courses must ultimately be recommended and approved by a student's appropriate academic advisor.
