Basic and Program Requirements

Basic Requirements

 

All graduate applicants are required to submit:

  • an application for enrollment
  • non-refundable appliation fee
  • official undergraduate transcripts for all schools attended
  • copy of college diploma or proof of degree

GRE requirements are determined by the chairperson of the academic department.

Score reports for the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test  (LAST) and/or Content Specialty Test (CST) may be required by your program.

M.B.A. Program: GMAT scores are required for all students applying to the M.B.A. program.

Communication Arts: Two letters of recommendation are required for communication arts applicants. Those students applying for any of the computer graphics programs must also submit a portfolio with the application for review. For more information concerning portfolio requirements, e-mail the Communication Arts department.

Advanced Childhood Education, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology Specialist, and District Leadership and Technology: A copy of your New York (or other state) teacher certfication is required.

District Leadership and Technology: Two letters of recommendation are required from your school district administrators endorsing your candidacy for the program.

School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling: Supplemental background packets are required. Call 516.686.777 for details.

Human Resource Management, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy: Two letters of recommendation are required. PT/OT letters of recommendation should be on letterhead stationery, one of which must be from a licensed PT/OT. The recommendations must be dated within the past six months. both references should be in sealed envelopes with the referee's signature over the seal. An interview with the department chairperson is required for these programs.

Doctor of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy: Applicants need to supply proof of 100 volunteer hours from a licensed OT/PT. An essay on why you want to become a PT/OT is required.

 

Immunization Records: Public Health Law 2165 requires college students to present a complete record of two live immunizations against measles and a single immunization against mumps and rubella. Students born on or after Jan. 1, 1957 must submit a completed immunization record signed by a health practitioner. Your registration for classes will not be valid until this information has been provided.
