Advanced Placement (AP) Exams
NYIT rewards the hard work you’ve done throughout high school and will grant credit toward your degree for AP exam scores of 3, 4, or 5. To claim your credits, contact the College Board and ask them to send your official AP reports to the NYIT Office of Admissions.
NYIT's AP college code is 2561.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams
If you took higher-level IB exams in high school and scored a 4, 5, 6, or 7 on them, congratulations on work well done! As long as it’s applicable to your degree at NYIT, we’ll gladly award you the credit, provided you have the International Baccalaureate send the official test results to our Office of Admissions.
College Coursework Completed While in High School
At NYIT, college coursework completed during high school is eligible for consideration of transfer credit so that you can get even further ahead than you are. If you took college courses on a college campus or in your high school under a sponsoring college, check out our standard transfer credit criteria and see if those classes fall under our guidelines.
If so, go ahead and put in a request for the official transcript of the course(s) to be sent to the NYIT Office of Admissions from the associated college. Make sure that the transcript reflects the course, credit, and grade earned so that the class can be accurately considered for transfer credit.
