  • NYITPlacement exams are required for all first-year students. Register for placement exams. We encourage you to sign up early for placement exams. This will give you the opportunity to create your ideal class schedule and sit for the exams while your knowledge of the subject material is still fresh.

If you are admitted to the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), then the HEOP department will schedule a day and time for you to take the exam.

Students admitted to the B.S. in Life Sciences/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (B.S./D.O.) program are not required to take placement exams. You are required to attend a B.S./D.O. Enrollment Day to meet with faculty members and new students to register for your fall semester courses. Sessions will be in June and August 2015.

  • After completing your placement exams, you will meet with an advisor to register for classes and make plans for the upcoming semester.

  • Each NYIT campus offers full-service residential facilities near the Manhattan and Old Westbury campuses. To live in on-campus residence halls, please complete a Residential Hall Application and submit a nonrefundable $315 deposit.
