Congratulations on your acceptance! We look forward to seeing you on campus. Before you begin your studies here, here is a quick to-do list:
Please set up your MyNYIT Portal to create your NYIT email account and access NYITConnect to complete your next steps: confirm your enrollment, view, accept, or decline your NYIT scholarship and/or financial aid, if applicable, pay your tuition deposit, and more.
In NYITConnect, submit your $400 nonrefundable tuition deposit by May 1, 2016, or within two weeks of your acceptance if after the deposit deadline.
NYIT offers more than $40 million in scholarships and institutional aid each year. To be eligible for merit-based, state, or federal assistance, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). NYIT's FAFSA school code is 002782. NYIT's state TAP code is 2120. NYIT's priority deadline in March 1. Complete your FAFSA online.
Placement exams are required for all first-year students, except students admitted to the B.S./D.O. program. HEOP students will take exams on an individual basis.
Placement exams will be held from April through September. We will notify you when it's time to register for placement exams. Learn more and view practice questions.
New York State requires all students to show proof of immunizations before attending classes. NYIT requires all students to submit their immunizations documents prior to registering for classes. Please complete the Student Immunization Form and fax or mail it to NYIT's Office of Wellness Services or bring it with you on your placement exam date. If you are under 18, you MUST have a parent sign the form or you will be unable to register for classes on the day you come in for your placement exam. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 516.686.3705.
You are required to attend orientation as a new first-year student. This will be your opportunity to learn about student services and campus life, get to know your future classmates, and get ready for college life.
Orientation will be held in June through August. We will notify you when it's time to register.
Decide if you would like to live in one of NYIT's full-service residence halls, located a short bus or subway ride away from campus. To live in an NYIT residence hall, please complete a Residential Hall Application, submit a nonrefundable $315 housing deposit, and select your meal plan.
You need to send final, official test scores, transcripts for any high school or college-level coursework, AP scores, and proof of graduation to the Office of Admissions prior to the start of the semester. Your exams and courses will be evaluated for credit. Your admission and scholarship, if applicable, are pending the receipt of these documents.
