SOAR Toward Excellence in Summer 2011
NYIT's new student orientation marks the beginning of exciting, challenging, and rewarding times ahead of you. All incoming first-year students must attend orientation, where current students, staff, and faculty will welcome you and your family members, prepare you for your journey through college, and answer all your questions. You will also get to meet your new classmates and have some fun. Our goal for orientation -- and for your entire time at NYIT -- is to ensure that you have a worthwhile, informative, and enjoyable experience.
NOTE: This summer, the Manhattan campus is offering an optional overnight orientation to first-year undergraduate students.
|Manhattan Campus||Old Westbury Campus|
|July 12-13, 21-22||July 13, 20, 27|
|Aug. 2-3, 25-26, 30*||Aug. 3 or 10|
|* Transfer students||Sept. 2-3|
REMEMBER THESE DATES:
Each incoming student must register for one placement examination date. Because exam space is limited and fill up quickly, it's a good idea to register as soon as you receive information about orientation.
Special Needs: If you have special requirements because of a disability, please contact the Office of Counseling and Wellness Services at 212.261.1770, so that proper arrangements can be made for accommodations during orientation and placement testing.
