Congratulations on your acceptance and welcome to NYIT! We look forward to seeing you on campus. Before you begin your undergraduate studies, here is a quick to-do list:

Immediately

  • Secure Your Place in the Fall 2012 Class: Complete the Enrollment Reply Form (PDF) and fax (516.686.7613) or mail it to the Office of Admissions.
  • Decide if You Will Live at NYIT:  Each NYIT campus offers full-service residential facilities. To live on campus, you must complete a Residential Hall Application and submit a non-refundable $285 deposit. Download an application (PDF).

As Soon as Possible

Register for placement exams

  • Sign Up for Placement Exams: Required for all first year students. Helpful hint: the earlier you take the exam, the better.

  • Apply for financial aid:  NYIT offers more than $32 million in scholarships and financial aid each year. To be eligible for merit-based, state, or federal assistance, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Complete it online at fafsa.ed.gov. NYIT's FAFSA school code is 002782. NYIT's state TAP code is 2120.

Before Classes Start September 5, 2012

  • Activate Your NYITConnect Account: Once you are admitted to NYIT, you can activate your user name and create a password for your NYIT email and NYITConnect account, which allows you to conduct academic and financial business with NYIT. Both are accessible through the student portal My NYIT.
  • Submit Your High School Diploma: Since your admission to NYIT is contingent upon successful completion of course work in progress, you must ensure final official transcripts are filed with the Office of Admissions. Evidence of a high school diploma and graduation date is required.
  • Immunizations: NY State requires all students to show proof of immunizations before attending classes. Please complete the Student Immunization Form (PDF) prior to registering for classes and fax or mail it to NYIT's Office of Wellness Services. For more information, please call 516.686.3705 or email ows@nyit.edu.
  • Explore on- and off-campus job opportunities at the Office of Student Employment. You must use your NYIT email to get information on job openings. Call the Office of Student Employment at 212.261.1688 (Manhattan) or 516.686.7606 (Old Westbury), or visit nyit.edu/career_services, for more information.
