Students traveling from outside the United States to attend NYIT have some unique but easy-to-follow requirements regarding financing their education:
While international students are not eligible for federal or state aid, NYIT offers academic scholarships to international students that may cover partial tuition. There is no separate application for scholarships. When you submit your application and supporting documents, the admissions committee will review your file for admission and for scholarship eligibility. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive an official award letter after you receive the acceptance package. Scholarships are awarded upon admission to NYIT, not after you arrive and enroll at NYIT.
Incoming undergraduate freshmen must submit their SAT exam scores and transcripts to be considered for academic scholarships or financial aid. To acquire more information on the SAT examinations, please go to the College Board Web site. The undergraduate scholarships range from $10,000 to $16,000 (U.S.) per year.
Transfer students who have taken courses at an overseas university or college need to acquire a World Education Services (WES), Globe Language Services, or another recognized evaluation agency report that provides a course-by-course evaluation in order to see if your foreign credits can be transferred. The evaluation will also allow us determine whether you qualify for academic aid. NYIT's transfer scholarships range from $7,000 to $12,000 U.S. dollars per year.
Graduate applicants are eligible for a graduate scholar award (GSA) of $3,000 (U.S.) annually. In order to qualify, you must submit a TOEFL score of 550 or greater and a total GRE score of 1100 (verbal and quantitative). M.B.A. students must submit a GMAT score of 400 or greater and an overall GPA or 3.3 or greater. Only students not requiring prerequisites are eligible for this award.
