Student Affairs

The student affairs team at NYIT is dedicated to fostering student success and creating an inclusive community across all campuses and sites throughout the world. Our hope is that students will find life outside the classroom to be an equally rich and rewarding experience.

Who We Are

Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs
... provides oversight to all areas of student life, ensuring that NYIT's activities, programs, and support services enhance the academic experience.

Office of the Dean of Campus Life
... provides advocacy and support, and promotes student leadership through the creation of new programs. The campus deans oversee the Office of Student Activities and other student-oriented initiatives such as orientation and first-year programs, and acts as the arbitrator of student discipline.

Office of Career Services
... offers students all the tools they need to start a successful career. Staff teaches students how to write targeted resumes and cover letters, conduct job searches, interview confidently, and plan for the future.

Office of Counseling and Wellness Services
... offers short-term counseling to NYIT students who may be experiencing personal, social, or academic concerns. Professional counselors assist students in developing greater self-understanding as well as strategies for effective problem solving to enhance personal development and academic success.

Office of Disability Services
... actively supports students with disabilities in their pursuit of academic and career goals. The office coordinates all NYIT services pertaining to students with disabilities to provide an academic environment free of the barriers that can hinder a student's efforts to learn and succeed.

Office of First-Year Programs
... assists students as they navigate their first year at NYIT, taking care to explain everything from registering for classes to what clubs and organizations are available.

Office of Wellness Services
... oversees immunization compliance and maintains all immunization records. The office provides assistance with and information about the student accident and health insurance plans and serves as a liaison with the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine's health centers and community health services.

Office of Housing and Residential Life
... offers residential students convenient housing options as well as a friendly community environment and a variety of activities.

Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation
... prides itself on producing student-athletes, men and women who work just as hard in the classroom as they do on the field or in the gymnasium. In addition to Division I and II NCAA sports teams, this office also provides a variety of recreational activities for students, staff, and faculty.

Office of International Education
... assists international students with government regulation compliance. The office helps international students navigate life at NYIT and in the United States through support services and cultural programs.

Office of Student Activities
... strives to create an environment where student can make connections, explore exciting discoveries, and participate in activities that encourage the full expression of their individual talents while contributing to the dynamic community that is NYIT.

Office of Student Employment
... helps students to find on- and off-campus jobs to help pay for college. In addition to earning a salary, students learn valuable skills such as time management and business communication.
