Students have the opportunity to work in a business environment to gain practical experience, increase professionalism, develop a basic understanding of the work environment, and sharpen career focus. To be eligible, students must have sophomore or higher status and at least one semester in NYIT with 2.0 or better GPA. Course may be repeated. Approval of the Dean required.

BUSIE 401 Experiential Based Learning: International Workshop 3 School of Management
Students travel abroad to participate competitively in an international markets business simulation with students from several other countries. Students are engaged in entrepreneurial decisions that require them to work effectively and cooperatively with people from different countries and cultures. Additional experiential components include visits to local manufacturing plants and businesses, as well as sight-seeing tours of the country.

BUSIE 402 Experiential Based Learning: Fed Challenge 3 School of Management
Organized by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the College Fed Challenge Competition offers a team of students, under the guidance and supervision of a faculty advisor, an experiential learning opportunity to follow a series of economic indicators and deliver a presentation to a panel of Wall Street economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. The presentation focuses on current economic conditions, future economic trends and forecasts, and recommendations regarding changes in monetary policy and interest rates.

BUSIE 404 Experiential Based Learning: Broadridge Challenge 3 School of Management
This experiential learning course strengthens group dynamics through student engagement in ongoing challenges and problems that are actually faced by practicing professionals in organizations. Student teams are required to seek and organize data, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations that apply to the ongoing contextual issues being presented, discussed, and explored.

BUSIE 405 Applied Industry Challenge 3 School of Management
This experiential learning course strengthens group dynamics through student engagement in ongoing challenges and problems that are actually faced by practicing professionals in organizations. Student teams are required to seek and organize data, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations to the senior management of participating organization.

BUSIE 410 Study Abroad 3 School of Management
Intensive summer study that includes academic, professional and cultural components. The experience includes interaction with the local culture, academic lectures, company visits, and site seeing in the context of developing global business competencies. Course may be repeated.

BUSIE 480 Zero Credit Practicum in Management 0 School of Management
A practicum provides an opportunity for student(s) to apply knowledge and skills gained from classrooms in the real-world problem solving. Under the supervision of a faculty advisor, student(s) will work on a company-specific project, collecting and analyzing data and information, considering alternative feasible solutions, and delivering team recommendations.
