This course provides a survey of evolution of the American press and its influence in our democratic society. Freedom of the press and social responsibilities are emphasized along with the professional goals, qualities, and ethics of a journalist. Technical developments and organizational structure in print and broadcast journalism are also explored. Various types and styles of journalism and profiles of prominent journalists are covered through a survey of literature. Career opportunities in journalism are also discussed. JOUR-350	Introduction to News Reporting for All Media	3.0	College of Arts and Sciences
This course is an introduction to the principles and practices of news reporting through the study of sources and the preparation of news, feature, and editorial materials.
