EduPlus provides supplemental educational enrichment for motivated students who demonstrate enthusiasm and a strong willingness to work hard but whose grades and test scores do not meet NYIT’s regular admissions standards. This extra assistance can make an important difference in helping you achieve success in the college environment. EduPlus, which is offered at the Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses, provides the guidance and structure needed for students to become independent and self-motivated learners.
There are no separate and/or specific developmental classes for EduPlus students at NYIT. All EduPlus students are mainstreamed into regular college courses and are full-time students. Participants select courses in consultation with EduPlus advisors based on placement test outcomes.
There is an additional one-time fee required to enroll in EduPlus. This fee is added to your first tuition bill and covers one-to-one contact with professional tutors, personalized academic advisors and personal counselors, other resources, and participation in supplemental activities.
Eligibility
All incoming first-year students will undergo an assessment as part of NYIT's regular admission process. If you are selected as a candidate for EduPlus, staff members will contact you to schedule an interview and will provide additional information on program offerings.
All EduPlus students are classified as full-time, matriculated students and are eligible to apply for financial aid. If you wish to be considered for financial aid, you should follow the regular procedure by going online and filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA).
