Student Responsibilities
Your Role in Academic Advisement
As young adults, students must assume responsibility for the completion of all courses and the attainment of their desired degree. At NYIT, students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisors and faculty mentors at least once per semester. Additional student responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
- a responsibility for your individual growth and development
- being receptive to feedback and coaching
- accurately preparation of all forms
- asking questions and knowing where to find answers
- being familiar with the college catalog
- understanding NYIT's policies, procedures, and important dates
- knowing what school and major you are enrolled in
- knowing your degree requirements
- paying attention to schedules, deadlines, and appointments
