Registering for Classes

Check the NYIT Academic Calendar for advisement and registration start dates.

Step 1: Get Advisement

• Meet with your advisor during the advisement period for course selection.
• Receive a signed registration form.
• Have your account opened for online registration.

Step 2: Resolve Blocks

• Log on to the student menu of NYITConnect, and click on "View My Restrictions."
• Follow the instructions for any blocks that appear; these prevent you from registering if you do not resolve them.

Step 3: Find Out When You Can Register Online

• Logon to the student menu of NYITConnect and click on
  "Web Registration Appointment" for your assigned online registration date.
• Contact the Office of the Registrar if you missed your appointment.

Step 4: Register Online

• Logon to the student menu of NYITConnect, and click on "Register and Drop Sections."
• Select "Search and Register for Sections" if you know the courses you are taking but are unsure of your schedule.
• Select "Express Registration" if you know your exact schedule.

Once you successfully register, click on "My Class Schedule," select the term you just registered for, and verify that the courses and sections are correct.

You will be able to register only if you have seen your advisor and resolved any blocks on your account.
