NYIT Celebrates “The Year of Turkey 2014”
year of Turkey

Building on its partnerships with three Turkish universities (Yildiz Technical University, Kadir Has University, and Isik University) in Istanbul, NYIT has joined with the Turkish Cultural Center to celebrate "The Year of Turkey 2014," a series of events and activities throughout 2014 to affirm NYIT's and Turkey's commitment to global education and cultural and academic programs on their global campuses.

For the 2014 calendar year, NYIT will present events and activities on its New York campuses, themed to Turkey — a country with a rich and diverse history, people, and environment — from multiple perspectives: socioeconomics, ethnicity, art, literature, music, and film. The Turkish Cultural Center will help coordinate the events and engage local ethnic communities with historic ties to this region, to include their perspectives.

These events will provide wonderful opportunities for students from Turkey and the United States to build educational and cultural bridges between the two nations. They will also complement NYIT's dual-degree and short-term study programs with Turkey, in which NYIT students can continue their studies abroad and engage in first-hand experiences with Turkish students and faculty in Istanbul. Additionally, Turkish students attending NYIT can develop a better understanding of American culture, while getting a top-quality education in New York or at NYIT campuses in Abu Dhabi, Canada, or China.

NYIT and the Turkish Cultural Center look forward to welcoming everyone to "The Year of Turkey 2014" events, as follows:
