Record Turnout for Preview Day 2011

Old Westbury and New York, N.Y. (April 4, 2011) – Hundreds of students and their families visited NYIT’s Manhattan and Old Westbury campuses this weekend for Preview Day 2011, with many noting NYIT was their “top choice school” as they considered plans for the next academic year.

The record turnout of students and guests took part in academic showcases with dozens of faculty members, one-to-one admissions and financial aid counseling sessions, and walking tours of the Lincoln Center neighborhood in Manhattan or tours winding along the walkways in Old Westbury.

Many participants said they liked the encouraging tone of a workshop called “You’re Admitted! What’s Next?”

“Faculty on both campuses thanked us for bringing them so many talented and engaged students,” said Jacquelyn Nealon, Vice President for Enrollment, Communications, and Marketing.

Prospective students visited residence halls and bought NYIT clothing from campus bookstores in between speaking with Student Services and representatives from clubs and organizations. A larger-than-ever delegation of NYIT staff and student ambassadors assisted families in registering for the event, distributing free T-shirts, providing directions, and answering questions about academic programs and admissions.
