NYIT to Host Outcomes-based Assessment Program for Student Service Professionals

New York, N.Y. (June 20, 2013) - The Office of Career Services at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is hosting an outcomes-based assessment program focusing on results, evidence of impact, return on investment, evidence-based decision making, and continuous improvement, among other topics. Led by R. Samuel Ratcliffe, Ph.D., (pictured at right) director of career services at the Virginia Military Institute and president-elect for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the program will prepare student service professionals to assess the impact of their work, focus on professional accountability, and create learning goals and outcomes on behalf of students.

“The objective of this program is to help higher education practitioners fully understand and measure what students will be able to accomplish as a direct result of the programs, services, and training they provide,” said Yvonne Harrison, associate director, NYIT Office of Career Services.

The program, to be held on August 19 at NYIT's Auditorium on Broadway, can accommodate up to 200 attendees. For more information, the full agenda, and reservation information, read more.
