NYIT Offers Summer M.B.A. Program in Manhattan to Fast Track the Education of International Students

New York, N.Y (April 28, 2010) – New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) will offer a summer “short” M.B.A. program to international and domestic students interested in earning credits towards their M.B.A. degree while exploring New York City as a global financial capital. The program will run June 9 - 26, 2010, and interested students are encouraged to apply soon for the available spaces remaining.

Courses, which will be held at NYIT’s Manhattan campus near Columbus Circle, in the summer 2010 program are Operations Management (MGT 610) and International Economic Concepts and Policies (INTL 705). Students can take one or both courses to receive three or six graduate credits, respectively, toward their degree in less than three weeks. The program combines classroom learning with study tours relevant to the courses. Students will enjoy an insider's look at Wall Street and top global corporations, as well as many opportunities to experience New York City culture.

The program is open to all students currently enrolled in an M.B.A. program at an accredited institution or those who have completed the requirements for admission to NYIT’S M.B.A. program. Other applicants may be considered after review.

“New York City is the world’s financial capital and one of its most important cultural centers. There is no better classroom than the city itself,” said Julie Fratrik, director of NYIT’s Center for Global Academic Exchange. “Having the opportunity to complement classroom seminars with visits to important institutions and meetings with local professionals in the field makes this a unique educational experience. In addition, students bring – to the classroom and beyond – experiences from their own countries around the globe, enriching the learning for all.”

Students will have the opportunity to tour facilities and speak to distinguished business leaders at institutions such as: Bloomberg Corporation, Broadridge Financial Solutions, The Conference Board, Federal Reserve Bank, and Thomas Edison National Historic Park. In addition, all participants will get a chance to enjoy the excitement of New York City with visits to the United Nations, the Museum of American Finance, a Double-decker bus tour around the city, as well as visits to Wall Street and the Financial District, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Broadway theater, and more.
