NYIT M.B.A. Graduates Celebrate in Nanchang, China

JUFE graduates celebrate

Nanchang, China (April 23, 2012) — Honored by friends, family, and faculty, 98 M.B.A. students graduated at New York Institute of Technology’s 11th graduation ceremony at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) in Nanchang.

“Today, China has become the world’s largest capital surplus economy,” NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., told the graduates in his annual address. “But let me emphasize that education—whether through teaching, or creating knowledge through research—is as important as government or business in the new economy.”

Guests gathered at School of Graduates, Jiaoqiao Campus, to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2012. Master of Ceremonies Zhou Mei, dean of the JUFE M.B.A. School, welcomed NYIT leadership and presentations by JUFE President Wang Qiao and Vice President Lu Fucai.

Two student representatives addressed their classmates at the event -- Xiaoliang Xie from the Shanghai class and president of the class committee was selected as a student speaker because of his involvement in extracurricular activities and his organization of activities for the class. Yongna Chen from the Shenzhen class and class committee member was selected for her academic achievements.

Since 1997, NYIT has had an educational cooperation agreement with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE), located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province. NYIT was among the first universities to receive approval from the Ministry of Education to operate foreign degree programs in China.
