NYIT Honors Class of 2013 at NYIT-Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada (June 3, 2013) - Friends, family, and faculty honored 24 graduates of the Class of 2013 at NYIT-Vancouver's twelfth graduation ceremony and luncheon held at VanDusen Botanical Garden on May 31.

NYIT Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Rahmat A. Shoureshi, Ph.D., conferred M.B.A. degrees on the graduates. A special video greeting by NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., congratulated the university's newest alumni.

"The most valuable resource for addressing and solving global challenges is a skilled and educated people with a global perspective and understanding," Shoureshi said. "Our 2013 graduating class of the NYIT-Vancouver campus is a shining example of such a group of intellectuals. We are proud of their achievements and congratulate them and their families and friends."

Eros Tuladhar delivered the student address to fellow graduates. He is managing partner of his family's business, Rainbow Collection Nepal, and a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. He urged graduates to "keep in mind the best interests of mankind when making decisions in the future" and to remember "how fortunate we are to have such loving family and friends who have stayed by our side throughout this phase of our lives."

The event follows NYIT's 52nd Commencement, which celebrated 3,215 degree recipients on May 19 in Old Westbury, N.Y., as well as graduations at NYIT campuses in Abu Dhabi (May 27), Bahrain (May 29), and Jordan (May 31). In addition, NYIT's campus in Nanjing, China, will host a graduation ceremony for students on Monday, June 10.

Since 1999, NYIT has offered an M.B.A. degree program in Vancouver. The campus has Education Quality Assurance status granted by the Ministry of Advanced Education of British Columbia, Canada.
