NYIT Celebrations in China

To commemorate 10 years of offering academic programs in China, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) will hold a series of celebrations in April. From April 11 to April 17 NYIT administration from New York will visit five Chinese cities to celebrate with partner institutions, high-profile government and corporate officials, alumni, and students. NYIT has more than 1,000 alumni who have attended M.B.A. programs offered by NYIT in China or are Chinese citizens who attended NYIT campuses in New York or Vancouver, Canada and returned to their home country. A special feature in NYIT Magazine highlights NYIT's China legacy.

April 11: The celebratory events will commence with the graduation of NYIT's M.B.A. students at partner institution Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) in Nanchang. On Saturday, April 11, beginning at 9 a.m., master's degrees will be conferred to the 104 students in the cohort at the commencement ceremony, followed by a special alumni event featuring a keynote address by Long Yongtu, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia. NYIT President Edward Guiliano will officiate and deliver speeches to graduates and alumni. NYIT administration from New York will include Dr. Scott Liu, associate dean of NYIT global programs and executive director of the Center for International Business Studies; Joseph Fortine, NYIT Alumni Director; and Peggy Wu, NYIT Alumni Director for China.

Secretary-General Long Yongtu will also speak at a special NYIT forum, "China in the Global Financial Crisis," from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the JUFE campus.
